1 John 4:18-20

“愛裡沒有懼怕．愛既完全、就把懼怕除去．因為懼怕裡含著刑罰．懼怕的人在愛裡未得完全。我們愛、因為　神先愛我們。人若說、我愛　神、卻恨他的弟兄、就是說謊話的．不愛他所看見的弟兄、就不能愛沒有看見的　神。”

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.”

1 John 4:11-13

“親愛的弟兄阿、神既是這樣愛我們、我們也當彼此相愛。 從來沒有人見過神．我們若彼此相愛、神就住在我們裡面、愛他的心在我們裡面得以完全了． 神將他的靈賜給我們、從此就知道我們是住在他裡面、他也住在我們裡面。 ”

“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.”

1 John 4:9-11

“神差他獨生子到世間來、使我們藉著他得生、　神愛我們的心、在此就顯明了。 不是我們愛　神、乃是　神愛我們、差他的兒子、為我們的罪作了挽回祭、這就是愛了。”

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

“親愛的弟兄阿、我們應當彼此相愛．因為愛是從神來的．凡有愛心的、都是由神而生、並且認識神。 沒有愛心的、就不認識神．因為神就是愛。 ”

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

“親愛的弟兄阿、一切的靈、你們不可都信．總要試驗那些靈是出於　神的不是．因為世上有許多假先知已經出來了。凡靈認耶穌基督是成了肉身來的、就是出於　神的．從此你們可以認出　神的靈來。”

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.”

“你看父賜給我們是何等的慈愛、使我們得稱為　神的兒女．我們也真是他的兒女．世人所以不認識我們、是因未曾認識他。親愛的弟兄阿、我們現在是　神的兒女、將來如何、還未顯明．但我們知道主若顯現、我們必要像他．因為必得見他的真體。”

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”

1 John 2:15-17

“不要愛世界、和世界上的事。人若愛世界、愛父的心就不在他裡面了。因為凡世界上的事、就像肉體的情慾、眼目的情慾、並今生的驕傲、都不是從父來的、乃是從世界來的。這世界、和其上的情慾、都要過去．惟獨遵行　神旨意的、是永遠常存。”

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. ”

“人若說自己在光明中、卻恨他的弟兄、他到如今還是在黑暗裡。愛弟兄的就是住在光明中、在他並沒有絆跌的緣由。 惟獨恨弟兄的是在黑暗裡、且在黑暗裡行、也不知道往那裡去、因為黑暗叫他眼睛瞎了。”

“Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.”

“人若說我認識他、卻不遵守他的誡命、便是說謊話的、真理也不在他心裡了。 凡遵守主道的、愛　神的心在他裡面實在是完全的、從此我們知道我們是在主裡面． 人若說他住在主裡面、就該自己照主所行的去行。”

“The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. ”
