Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

主所應許的尚未成就、有人以為他是耽延．其實不是耽延、乃是寬容你們、不願有一人沉淪、乃願人人都悔改。但主的日子要像賊來到一樣．那日天必大有響聲廢去、有形質的都要被烈火銷化、地和其上的物都要燒盡了。

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

ある人たち は、遅いと考えているようですが、主は約束の実現を遅らせておられるのではありません。そうではなく、一人も滅びないで皆が悔い改めるようにと、あなたが たのために忍耐しておられるのです。主の日は盗人のようにやって来ます。その日、天は激しい音をたてながら消えうせ、自然界の諸要素は熱に熔け尽くし、地 とそこで造り出されたものは暴かれてしまいます。(ヨハネの黙示録)

信就是所望之事的實底、是未見之事的確據。古人在這信上得了美好的證據。我們因著信、就知道諸世界是藉　神話造成的．這樣、所看見的、並不是從顯然之物造出來的。

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

信仰とは、望んでいる事柄を確信し、見えない事実を確認することです。 昔の人たちは、この信仰のゆえに神に認められました。 信仰によって、わたしたちは、この世界が神の言葉によって創造され、従って見えるものは、目に見えているものからできたのではないことが分かるのです。(ヘブル人への手紙)

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.

神の御前で、そして、生きている者と死んだ者を裁くために来られるキリスト・イエスの御前で、その出現とその御国とを思いつつ、厳かに命じます。 御言葉を宣べ伝えなさい。折が良くても悪くても励みなさい。とがめ、戒め、励ましなさい。忍耐強く、十分に教えるのです。(テモテへの第二の手紙)

聖經都是神所默示的、〔或作凡神所默示的聖經〕於教訓、督責、使人歸正、教導人學義、都是有益的．叫屬　神的人得以完全、豫備行各樣的善事。

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

聖書はすべて神の霊の導きの下に書かれ、人を教え、戒め、誤りを正し、義に導く訓練をするうえに有益です。こうして、神に仕える人は、どのような善い業をも行うことができるように、十分に整えられるのです。(テモテへの第二の手紙)

人若自潔、脫離卑賤的事、就必作貴重的器皿、成為聖潔、合乎主用、豫備行各樣的善事。你要逃避少年的私慾、同那清心禱告主的人追求公義、信德、仁愛、和平。

If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

だから、今述べた諸悪から自分を清める人は、貴いことに用いられる器になり、聖なるもの、主人に役立つもの、あらゆる善い業のために備えられたものとなるのです。 若いころの情欲から遠ざかり、清い心で主を呼び求める人々と共に、正義と信仰と愛と平和を追い求めなさい。 (テモテへの第二の手紙)
