Jonah約拿書4:10-11

耶和華說、這蓖麻不是你栽種的、也不是你培養的．一夜發生、一夜乾死你尚且愛惜．何況這尼尼微大城、其中不能分辨左手右手的有十二萬多人、並有許多牲畜、我豈能不愛惜呢。


But the LORD said, "You have been concerned about this vine, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?"


すると、主はこう言われた。「お前は、自分で労することも育てることもなく、一夜にして生じ、一夜にして滅びたこのとうごまの木さえ惜しんでいる。 それならば、どうしてわたしが、この大いなる都ニネベを惜しまずにいられるだろうか。そこには、十二万人以上の右も左もわきまえぬ人間と、無数の家畜がいるのだから。」
