John 約翰福音9:3-5

耶穌回答說、也不是這人犯了罪、也不是他父母犯了罪、是要在他身上顯出　神的作為來。趁著白日、我們必須作那差我來者的工．黑夜將到、就沒有人能作工了。我在世上的時候、是世上的光。


"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."


イエスはお答えになった。「本人が罪を犯したからでも、両親が罪を犯したからでもない。神の業がこの人に現れるためである。 わたしたちは、わたしをお遣わしになった方の業を、まだ日のあるうちに行わねばならない。だれも働くことのできない夜が来る。わたしは、世にいる間、世の光である。」
