我們不至消滅、是出於耶和華諸般的慈愛、是因他的憐憫、不至斷絕。每早晨這都是新的．你的誠實、極其廣大。

Because of the LORD'S great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

倚靠耶和華、以耶和華為可靠的、那人有福了。他必像樹栽於水旁、在河邊扎根、炎熱來到、並不懼怕、葉子 仍必青翠、在乾旱之年毫無掛慮、而且結果不止。

But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

祝福されよ、主に信頼する人は。主がその人のよりどころとなられる。彼は水のほとりに植えられた木。水路のほとりに根を張り／暑さが襲うのを見ることなく／その葉は青々としている。干ばつの年にも憂いがなく／実を結ぶことをやめない。

He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.”

御力をもって大地を造り／知恵をもって世界を固く据え／英知をもって天を広げられた方。 主が御声を発せられると、天の大水はどよめく。地の果てから雨雲を湧き上がらせ／稲妻を放って雨を降らせ／風を倉から送り出される。

1 Peter 彼得前書2:24-25

他被掛在木頭上親身擔當了我們的罪、使我們既然在罪上死、就得以在義上活．因他受的鞭傷、你們便得了醫治。你們從前好像迷路的羊．如今卻歸到你們靈魂的牧人監督了。

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.

その日には、あなたたちは言うであろう。「主に感謝し、御名を呼べ。諸国の民に御業を示し／気高い御名を告げ知らせよ。主にほめ歌をうたえ。主は威厳を示された。全世界にその御業を示せ。

The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled and the pride of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled)

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

大水も愛を消すことはできない／洪水もそれを押し流すことはできない。愛を支配しようと／財宝などを差し出す人があれば／その人は必ずさげすまれる。

Ecclesiastes 傳道書12:1

“你趁著年幼、衰敗的日子尚未來到、就是你所說、我毫無喜樂的那些年日未曾臨近之先、當記念造你的主．”

“Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"”

青春の日々にこそ、お前の創造主に心を留めよ。苦しみの日々が来ないうちに。「年を重ねることに喜びはない」と／言う年齢にならないうちに。

(Ecclesiastes 傳道書12:1)

“在日光之下所行的一切事上、有一件禍患、就是眾人所遭遇的、都是一樣．並且世人的心、充滿了惡．活著的時候心裡狂妄、後來就歸死人那裡去了。”

“This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of men, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead.”

太陽の下に起こるすべてのことの中で最も悪いのは、だれにでも同じひとつのことが臨むこと、その上、生きている間、人の心は悪に満ち、思いは狂っていて、その後は死ぬだけだということ。

(Ecclesiastes 傳道書9:3)

“事情的終局、強如事情的起頭．存心忍耐的、勝過居心驕傲的。你不要心裡急躁惱怒、因為惱怒存在愚昧人的懷中。不要說、先前的日子強過如今的日子、是甚麼緣故呢．你這樣問、不是出於智慧。”

“The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?" For it is not wise to ask such questions”

事の終りは始めにまさる。気位が高いよりも気が長いのがよい。気短に怒るな。怒りは愚者の胸に宿るもの。

“眼睛所看的、比心裡妄想的倒好．這也是虛空、也是捕風…人一生虛度的日子、就如影兒經過．誰知道甚麼與他有益呢．誰能告訴他身後在日光之下有甚麼事呢”

“Better what the eye sees than the roving of the appetite. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind...For who knows what is good for a man in life, during the few and meaningless days he passes through like a shadow? Who can tell him what will happen under the sun after he is gone?”

欲望が行きすぎるよりも／目の前に見えているものが良い。これまた空しく、風を追うようなことだ。短く空しい人生の日々を、影のように過ごす人間にとって、幸福とは何かを誰が知ろう。人間、その一生の後はどうなるのかを教えてくれるものは、太陽の下にはいない。

(Ecclesiastes 傳道書6:9,12)

Ecclesiastes 傳道書3:12-14

“我知道世人、莫強如終身喜樂行善。並且人人喫喝、在他一切勞碌中享福．這也是　神的恩賜。我知道　神一切所作的、都必永存、無所增添、無所減少． 神這樣行、是要人在他面前存敬畏的心。 ”

“I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil--this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.”

わたしは知った／人間にとって最も幸福なのは／喜び楽しんで一生を送ることだ、と 人だれもが飲み食いし／その労苦によって満足するのは／神の賜物だ、と。 わたしは知った／すべて神の業は永遠に不変であり／付け加えることも除くことも許されない、と。神は人間が神を畏れ敬うように定められた。

“人莫強如喫喝、且在勞碌中享福．我看這也是出於　神的手...神喜悅誰、就給誰智慧、知識、和喜樂．惟有罪人、神使他勞苦、叫他將所收聚的、所堆積的、歸給　神所喜悅的人．這也是虛空、也是捕風。”

“A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God...To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

人間にとって最も良いのは、飲み食いし／自分の労苦によって魂を満足させること。しかしそれも、わたしの見たところでは／神の手からいただくもの。 ...神は、善人と認めた人に知恵と知識と楽しみを与えられる。だが悪人には、ひたすら集め積むことを彼の務めとし、それを善人と認めた人に与えられる。これまた空しく、風を追うようなことだ。

時宜にかなって語られる言葉は／銀細工に付けられた金のりんご。...侵略されて城壁の滅びた町。自分の霊を制しえない人。

人間は心構えをする。主が舌に答えるべきことを与えてくださる。人間の道は自分の目に清く見えるが／主はその精神を調べられる。あなたの業を主にゆだねれば／計らうことは固く立つ。

柔らかな応答は憤りを静め／傷つける言葉は怒りをあおる。 知恵ある人の舌は知識を明らかに示し／愚か者の口は無知を注ぎ出す。
