因為十字架的道理、在那滅亡的人為愚拙．在我們得救的人卻為 神的大能…世人憑自己的智慧、既不認識 神、 神就樂意用人所當作愚拙的道理、拯救那些信的人．這就是 神的智慧了。
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are
perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God...For
since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know
him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to
save those who believe.
十字架の言は、滅び行く者には愚かであるが、救にあずかるわたしたちには、神の力である。
......この世は、自分の知恵によって神を認めるに至らなかった。それは、神の知恵にかなっている。そこで神は、宣教の愚かさによって、信じる者を救うこととされたのである。
